Here are some of my "aha" moments captured in the twelveth week.
Quote:“whether you have little or much of this world’s goods will
never be a fundamental determining factor of personal peace and happiness but
rather it is your attitude towards wealth that will be critical.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder
Gay)
Quote: “If we just do with our resources and talents what others suggest to us to do with them we are going to miss the mark very badly.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder Gay)
Quote:“The only way we can legitimately prosper in business is to make our hearts and actions one with divine instructions.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder Gay)
Quote:“Our aim must be to do His will, not ours in all our temporal as well as spiritual activities.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder Gay)
Quote:“I believe what the Lord would call success is quite different than what the world would call success and therefore, it is highly unlikely that the world’s model will yield what the Lord expects of us from our business entrepreneurship.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder Gay)
Quote:“Successful pioneers are always inward focused as well as outward driven.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder Gay)
Quote:“Just because the world does not factor in the power and mind of heaven, does not mean it does not matter.” (Entrepreneurship and Consecration by Elder Gay)
Thoughts: I loved Elder Gay's perspective on business. It is a side not often expressed in business. But as Elder Gay shared, just because the world does not factor it in, does not mean it does not matter. What does matter is what "the Lord would call success". I think the advice from Elder Gay will help me keep my focus on lasting, eternal happiness. That will help me as I set my goals and build my ethical guardrails that will help me achieve those goals.
His Will, Not Ours
